Takeda (Kinya Kitaoji) was diagnosed with cancer and was told he had only three months to live. Ten years ago, he lost his wife, Naomi (Sanae Tsuchida), to the same disease. Juri Ueno) has disappeared. Takeda tries to commit suicide when he receives a phone call from the Shiga Prefectural Police. Sawako's skeletal corpse is said to have been discovered.
