He was suffering from spinal arthritis and his condition had deteriorated dramatically, the primate care team made the difficult decision to put him to sleep. With no natural successor in the group it’s decided to move Chippy in with them as he is a proven leader. Over at the orangutan nursery Bulu Mata and Reike are having another big day as they go into the outside enclosure for the first time and new arrival Azzi is introduced to fellow squirrel monkey Charlie.
